He attended St Alban Hall, Oxford, matriculatingon 1 December, 1581at age 16. He was admitted to the Middle Temple in 1584 (first son of Robert of Baunton or Bothenhampton) [2]

Maximilian died when his children were still young. [7]

He was buried in the chancel of the old church at Fleet, Dorset [8]

A brass plate was later placed at the South side of the communion table. This is inscribed with the picture of a knight and lady, five sons and eight daughters; above the figures was an heraldic shield with 'Quaterly, 1 and 4 Mohun; 2 Hyde; 3 A lion rampant debruised with a bendlet, Churchill, a crescent for difference. Below them is the following words

Old Parish Churchyard Butter Street, Fleet, West Dorset District, Dorset, England The original parish church of Fleet, Dorsetshire, England was mostly destroyed by a storm and flood on 24 November 1824. In 1827, the remaining medieval chancel was refashioned into a mortuary chapel, which still stands. There are monuments in the old chancel and in the churchyard. The new parish church, the Church of the Holy Trinity, was built 1827 — 1829 to the northwest on Fleet Road. It also has a churchyard and burial ground.

Wiki: Fleet is a small, scattered village and civil parish in south Dorset, England, situated in the West Dorset administrative district approximately 2.5 miles (4.0 km) west of Weymouth. The village consists of several small settlements—East Fleet, West Fleet, Fleet House and Fleet Common—which are sited on or close to the shore of The Fleet, a brackish lagoon behind Chesil Beach. The name 'Fleet' derives from fleot, Old English for an inlet or estuary. Dorset County Council estimate that in 2013 the population of the civil parish was 60. J. Meade Falkner's smuggling novel Moonfleet is set in the village. There is a brass memorial to Falkner in the old church, together with early 17th-century brass plate memorials to members of the family whose name—Mohun—was used in the novela

I hope you don't object to the details I've added to this profile. There is quite a bit! I haven't touched the details about Fleet church c and p'd from wikipedia but do wonder if it's necessary. The old chancel where he was buried still remains, I keep meaning to visit and take photos of the memorial but it's a bleak spot at the top of a hill so best kept for warmer days.

I still believe that he should be called Moone with Mohun as an alternative, I've found no source with de Mohun

I'd also like to do some work on his wife's profile. I've transcribed her will also.

Thank you for all of your great work, Helen. I am not at all opposed to clarifying his Moone surname based on historical records.
